We did a small dash of bulk purchasing due to the lack of cash in Zimbabwe and the developing stock shortages. Got all our Permits, Licenses and paperwork in order (This only took over 6 weeks). We even got registered as a SADC exporter to reduce Customs / Duties and Vat costs. Due to the weight of the donation we split the consignment in half. Attie gets to the border with the first half where there has been a delay due to the systems being offline. Finally manages to get into Condep (This is where the truck inspection is done) to be told that we have Candles on the truck but it is not listed on our Import License. Now the space to list products on the Import License is tiny and we are bringing up 22 different lines of goods, so not all products are written down. We show them the application paperwork, showing that the total value and weight of both sets match. This however does not work with ZIMRA who then declares we have to take the Candles off the truck and put into storage until such time as we have the “correct” paperwork. We are also promptly issued with a $2000 USD fine.
At least Attie is now finally through the border (2 Weeks ago) and hurries to offload the stock and carry on with the normal deliveries of the food parcels for our Golden Oldies. While this was going on, myself here in Malelane has been scrambling trying to find out what we can do as we still have the balance of the goods to go up. Well it is now more than 2 weeks later and we are still working tirelessly on the issue in order to get the balance of goods up there. We seem to have found a solution and are hoping for positive answers later this afternoon. My day started with the phone glued to my ear J.

Unfortunately we don’t think things there are going to improve for a long while and for most of our Golden Oldies we are the only additional support they have. Thank you so much for helping us support our “Golden Oldies” during these very difficult times. Your support is invaluable to us and we at the ZPSF would never be able to sustain our regular supply of relief parcels if it were not for donations such as yours. You our Donors ensure our wheels keep turning, you are all truly amazing. Your continued donations are a very important life line to them reminding them that we are continuously thinking about them and still care. THANK YOU and God Bless.
We welcome anyone who wishes to come and see our warehouse in Malelane and what we do. We are always on the lookout for volunteers to travel with us, get the hands on experience, grind the mill and get excited enough to promote our efforts. It is not good to travel these distances alone but the need is greater than the risk. Please avail yourselves and come along. It’s not a picnic or a holiday but you do have fun. We are also in desperate need of volunteer drivers for the trucks. Need a Code 14 license and valid PDP (Public Drivers Permit).
We are currently supporting just over 1450 pensioners in 28 homes / organizations. We also support SOAP (Support Old Age Pensioners) in Bulawayo and have helped to set up a system similar to SOAP in Gweru, Zvishavane, Masvingo, Red Cliff, Kwe Kwe and Kadoma to cater for pensioners that are not in old age homes as well. We are an officially registered Non-Profit Organization and Section 21A in South Africa and are registered with SARS as a Public Benefit Organization in terms of section 18A the Income Tax Act (Which means all donations are issued with a Tax Certificate and can be claimed back)
I have now finished with the past years tax certificates for our South African donors please let me know if you have been missed and still require one.
Please Note for a Tax Certificate I require the following:
- Physical Address
- Contact Number
