We are currently busy with our final October trip planning and packing the boxes for our Golden Oldies. Please find in good order our 2 August trip reports done by Neels & Johan on the truck and Frans & Angela on the bakkie. I have placed and paid for the order of 2000 new apple boxes, and we are hoping for them to be in Nelspruit for collection by Friday. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen.
For almost 25 years, generous people like you have helped bring food, hope and dignity to pensioners and vulnerable elderly people in Zimbabwe. Your donations provide essential food supplies to people who are struggling to make ends meet. LET’S MAKE SOME CHRISTMAS MAGIC AGAIN! Help us bring a little joy and dignity to Zimbabwe’s pensioners this Christmas. Together, we can make Christmas 2026 a time of Love, Hope and Joy for our Golden Oldies still in Zimbabwe.
For many of Zimbabwe’s elderly people, Christmas is not about presents or celebrations—it’s about having enough food and basic necessities to get through another day. One pensioner at Boggies Trust in Gweru described what we are doing as “CHRISTANITY IN ACTION”. On the Christmas Trip “when we also hand out a small present to each of our pensioners, one pensioner had this to say. “I have family all over the world, but the only Christmas present I had to open on Christmas day was the one from the ZPSF “.
The cost of adopting a single person for Christmas will be R1000 ($80 / £60). (I apologize for the increase, but it is unavoidable) Which I am hoping is still affordable for most to then sponsor a friend / family member / loved one. Even if a group of friends make a joint donation to adopt a Golden Oldie or just add to the Christmas kitty for those who are not yet adopted. We currently have 191 boxes that have been adopted with 559 still up for adoption, plus 6 of the 220 staff boxes sponsored to say thank you for their assistance and looking after our Golden Oldies throughout the year. Your support will go a long way to help making them feel very special this Christmas.
A donation can mean:
- Food for someone who may otherwise go without
- Comfort and dignity for an elderly person
- A little Christmas joy for someone who desperately needs it
- A reminder that they have not been forgotten
We firmly believe that had it not been for the team’s tenacious “can-do” spirit, we would have been defeated by the financial headwinds, not to mention the ongoing twin roadblocks of bureaucracy and deteriorating infrastructure. The shocking state of the roads in Zimbabwe are exacting a heavy toll on our vehicles! However, this is not a job, it is a passion!! We do have a bit of a story coming out in the November edition of the JOY magazine and are hoping this will help towards our Golden Oldies Christmas this year. Please any sort of assistance from your side would be greatly appreciated. We are also fully aware that life is tough all over. Over the past year donations have receded, and we are struggling to make ends meet.
ZPSF Statement Mission: This is a non-profitable Organisation and formed to provide pensioners in Zimbabwe with food and basic medicine networking with relevant bodies and institutions; and in humble gratitude to God Almighty.
