To Everyone who has supported us and our Golden Oldies over the past year- Donors, Drivers & Supporters from all of us at the Zimbabwe Pensioners Supporter Fund we would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2021 may it be a bumper year in so many ways.
Thank you – With your support we managed to get all our Golden Oldies adopted for Christmas 2020.
The Christmas trip has begun and soon the team will be doing the rounds and spreading some Christmas Joy to our Golden Oldies. After everyone doing their Covid-19 tests on Monday, the truck (Johan & Frans) and bakkie (Hannes) all left Malelane on Tuesday the 24th for the border. Once again stressing as to what new rules and regulations were awaiting us. Everyone made it to Musina safe and sound and had a quiet evening. Wednesday morning saw the team heading for the border. To everyone’s amazement there were literally no ques and things on the SA side moved swiftly and in no time they were on their way over the bridge. Although the system is much easier and the guys had cleared Condep by 5pm it then still took a few more hours to get the Gate Pass stamped and they were officially in Zimbabwe just before 8pm. Driving on the roads in Zims at night is our one big no-no, but needs a must and so they had careful drive to Bulawayo arriving at 3.22am.
After a few hours of sleep, today was spent checking on the progress of the packing of the boxes and loading in the gifts. Also sorting out all the loose odds and ends. Johan also had to go for another Covid-19 test as he is coming back to Malelane tomorrow with the bakkie so he can be here for my surgery on Monday. This means there was a bit of an upset in the planning of the deliveries but a new plan has already been made with regards to this.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE OFFICE IS CLOSED FROM FRIDAY 27 NOVEMBER 2020 TILL MONDAY 4 JANUARY 2021.
My original surgery was postponed due to health concerns pending a full cardiac evaluation. I am now undergoing my shoulder and hand surgery to put some nuts and bolts back in place on the 30 November. My Dr phoned literally 2 hours after the team had left Malelane. Due to my heart condition this is a high-risk op, but we have taken all the precautionary measures we can, my Cardiologist, 2 x Anaesthetist’s, and the Dr fixing my left shoulder and hand will all be there during my surgery.
On a Personal Note -This is really odd for me as I normally raise funds for other people and not myself, but any help towards the purchase of the insulin pump will make a HUGE difference in my life. We are hoping that using the pump with the Dexcom Sensors I am currently using, it will work as an external pancreas. Maintaining maximum sugar control. This will also help to reduce stress on my body/heart hopefully giving me many more years with my current heart. I still have so much left to do and am really confident as is my Dr that this will be life changing for me. https://www.backabuddy.co.za/champion/project/linda-schultz
I am apologizing in advance for the fact that the Thank You emails will being issued a bit late. Please accept my apology and I will get the Thank yous out as soon as I can. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Everyone’s support towards our Golden Oldies means more than I can say.
We have faced many challenges this year but with the Grace of God and your continued supported we have managed to push on and achieve our goals for the year.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind Regards
