The tenacity and resilience of these special Pensioners left behind in Zimbabwe is just friggen astonishing! These are people that laugh in the face of adversity. I try to laugh with them but find myself closer to tears than laughter. This trip confused my emotions more than ever. The pit in my stomach was constant. I was sadder than usual but laughed more than usual.
Time is flying, so I am challenging everyone out there to try and make a contribution, no matter how small, it makes a difference. We are busy working like crazy preparing for our Easter trip and we are looking to make it as special as possible especially in light of what has gone on the past few months. So guys I am counting on your generosity and continued support to help me make this a reality for them. Without you aid we cannot do what we do, YOU make our wheels turn and ensure our Golden Oldies have a reason to smile and carry on. THANK YOU!!!!
Annual Adopt a Golden Oldie for Christmas – 10 Boxes for our Golden Oldies Adopted for far, Yippee. Then the Frail Care parcels and Kitchen Gifts. It’s that time of the year again and we at the ZPSF would like to be able to make the upcoming Christmas of 2018 extra special for our pensioners Come on guys we can do this, let’s keep the momentum going!! I am once again going to take on the HUGE task of getting all of our Golden Oldies adopted for Christmas this year. We managed to get everyone adopted last year so let’s see what we can achieve this year.
My Mother, Ruth Hardman, came to Rhodesia from Nigel in South Africa in the 1930’s (1938-1939). They stayed in the municipal camping area in the park behind Eveline Girls High School. Where the Bulawayo Theater is, prior to moving to Gwelo (Gweru) area.
To date we have really had a hectic year, we were supposed to be purchasing our stock in SA from the upcoming April trip however our supplier is in the midst of a strike and cancelled their promotion, so we will once again be purchasing the stock in Zimbabwe for this trip. However we do have all the permits in place (finally) and as soon as they run the promotion we will be placing the order and taking the stock up
