Well……….. This is bound to be the most uninteresting trip report ever! Everything went so well with the authorities for a change.
On my trips I always try to lighten a very bleak situation in Zimbabwe by drawing humour from the Ironies, peculiarities, paradoxes & contradictions that Zimbabwe offers. So do the Pensioners! Amidst the despair, these special people find time to laugh and love, forgive and vindicate in a country that has been so cruel to them.
Our farm was Summerdale Farm in the Mazoe/Concession district.
As on so many farms, our troubles started with visits and death threats to my husband from “war vets”. Then came tree cutting, hut building and threats to tractor drivers to make sure they could not continue safely with any farming activities.
The Easter / April 2018 trip has come to an end and was from what I hear was once again gratefully received with things becoming more difficult in Zimbabwe with each passing day. This round trip was done by Russel (His first solo trip with the truck), who only got back 2 days ago. Once I receive his trip report I will be sharing it with everyone. Thank you, Russel, for your assistance with this trip and helping Liz with her move.
To date we have really had a hectic year, we were supposed to be purchasing our stock in SA from the upcoming April trip however our supplier is in the midst of a strike and cancelled their promotion, so we will once again be purchasing the stock in Zimbabwe for this trip. However we do have all the permits in place (finally) and as soon as they run the promotion we will be placing the order and taking the stock up
