Dear Zimbabwe Pensioner Support Fund Supporters and Friends,
Please find in good order our February 2024 Trip report and what we are up to currently. The February round trip on the truck was done by Johan & Frans Schultz on the truck and Caroline and Angela on the Bakkie for Bulawayo and surrounds. Thank you to the team on the ground who make sure the “Magic” gets packed and delivered. From my side in the office our Financial year end came to a close on the 29th February and I have been busy with the final prep for the Accountant. We also let all our stock run down to basically nothing over the last while to make sure we had used everything. I have placed several large orders which are currently being delivered and quite a bit has already been moved to the warehouse in Zimbabwe ready to be packed for the April trip. I also as per usual sourced the Beacon Marshmallow eggs and although a bit late our Oldies will definitely be getting them as well on the upcoming April Trip.
When you do what we do and have been doing it as long as we have {22 years of existence this year) our Golden Oldies become family. Unfortunately, we have lost quite a few of our Family members over the past 2 months. To name a few – Johnny Nel from Masvingo, Ann Morton from Muus Lodge, Lilly Visser from Gweru, Fritz Bezuidenhout from Mutare, Sandra Beru and Doughlas Pratt from EHT in Mutare. Our thoughts and prayers to their families and loved ones. Going through his phone a few days ago Johan turned around to me with a tear in eyes and said to me do you know how many photos I have on my phone of Golden Oldies that have passed. This is one of the hard realities of what we do, we are however blessed in knowing that with your assistance we managed to make their lives a little easier.
A BIG THANK YOU to all who have contributed to date towards the purchase of our new truck. Using the fundraising link on PayPal and our SA account we have managed to raise just over 832k Rand towards this purchase, so we are currently halfway there. We were hoping for delivery before the end of March to be ready in time for our upcoming April / Easter Trip, however there have been a few delays so it does not look like this will be possible as we can only apply for our Cross Border Permit once we have the trucks paperwork in our possession. We should have her late next week and she will definitely be ready for our June Trip. Please if anyone can assist no matter how small it will all help us not having to take any money away from the food fund. This is our PayPal link and if you click on the options, it will show an option to donate towards the new truck. https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=9ZQDM4CW696M2 or visit our web page www.zpsf.co.za for all our various wats to make a donation. Please if you do donate if you can send me a quick email at zpsf@zpsf.onmicrosoft.com as my linda@zpsf.co.za is currently having issues.
Once again our Golden Oldies in Zimbabwe tenacity is being tested to the max, but we are still here and we shall go no matter what in whichever way we can. For those who have been supporting us for a long time you have seen the regular trip reports, read all about the challenges, trials and loses we have had. This is not an easy undertaking by any means and trust me we take all the losses very personally. However, with everyone’s support out there and your continued prayers we are managing to keep doing what we do even in these unprecedented times.
To give you some context as to how the “Bond” is crashing I have attached 2 notices released by ZINARA reflecting Tollgate costs in USD vs Bond. In January 2024 $4 was the equivalent of ZWL24800.00 and as of 27 March 2024 $4 was the equivalent of ZWL90000.00. In just over 2 months according to their “Official” rate there was in increase in Bond cost of over 300%. How can anyone be expected to cope with this?
Also don’t forget if you would like to join us on a trip or be a driver on one of the vehicles to let Johan know johan@zpsf.co.za or call 0824979328.
Please note on the UK side Anne Tourle is currently managing the UK donations is using the zpsfuk@gmail.com email address to the fund. We Thank her for her assistance. Beti-Ann is finally going into theater Monday morning, and we wish her a safe and speedy recovery. Beti-Ann you are in our Thoughts and Prayers.
These food hampers serve 2 purposes.
1 They supply much needed food to the pensioner.
2 The pensioner then knows that someone cares about them

Thank you so much for helping us support our “Golden Oldies” during these crazy times. Your support is invaluable and we at the ZPSF would never be able to sustain our regular supply of relief parcels if it were not for donations and support such as yours. All of this happens because of people like you, our Donors ensure our wheels keep turning, you are all truly amazing. THANK YOU and God Bless.
We hope everyone is keeping safe and healthy. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us, ask your questions, check the references that we give you and then PLEASE support our old Rhodesian pensioners who have nowhere to go.

The 3 most important pillars of our cause:
UNIQUENESS – being one of a kind and knowing that the ZPSF is driven by good will and very passionate members.
TRANSPARENCY – enforcing the rule that all members must be fully informed before taking part in this noble venture.
ACCOUNTABILITY – Having a traceable paper trail for every cent handled, and regular revues conducted.
